WILLIAM TELL AND OTHER STORIES - Oral presentation

Dear Year 5 students,

Your oral presentation for this term will be in the form of a dramatic presentation.  You must do the following:

1. divide yourselves into groups of five

2. choose a story from the book, "William Tell and Other Stories" that we've read in class

3.  each person must choose a character and say some of the lines

4. decide who will have the following responsibilities: director, stage manager, script writer, props, costume

5.  write the script - you can make any changes you think will be necessary

6. present the play - you can do the presentation inside or outside

Adventure Sports, the Present Perfect Tense and more!

Dear Year 5 students,

In Unit 9 we will learn vocabulary related to adventure sports and the Beaufort Scale.  We learn a completely new grammatical structure: the Present Perfect Tense and we will read about an incredible sportswoman, Ellen MacArthur.  We will also focus on two sounds in English, /eɪ/ and /ɑ:/.
